Walking on the Venetian Walls
The team of amateur photographers that walked on the Venetian Walls of Heraklion, comprised of both locals and members of the refugee community. From the very first shooting clicks it became apparent that the team was in fine-tune, drawing inspiration from the Venetian Walls. A former fortification that was used as a barrier against the Ottoman Empire, is nowadays one of the most recognizable meeting spots of the city, that invites human interaction along the lines of solidarity, hope and friendship.

One can understand a great deal about a place’s past by studying its history. Yet, if one chooses to dig deeper into History, one comes across a host of minor stories that can alter that initial knowledge. This may completely overturn the prevailing perception on the historical identity of that particular place.
Nature constitutes the natural world that surrounds us. It makes life on earth possible. Serenity in nature, is like a balm for the soul. Natural motion has a hypnotic effect much like natural immobility, harmoniously achieving a powerful bond and a spiritual interconnection with nature.
